Coronavirus Update: From now until April 3rd I will be conducting all appointments through telehealth (distribution of health services though video and audio technologies) I am currently using the App Zoom however I will be in contact as there are other telehealth formats out there you may be more comfortable with. On the forms tab of this webpage there is a telehealth consent form that all my clients will need to print and get back to me. You can print the form and sign it and email it back to me or if a scanner is not available you can take a picture of the form and text or email it to me and that will sufffice. All the insurance companies I work with are allowing full reimbursement for telehealth services and will in no way impact and of my clients finacially. Any of my clients that feel wary of this service can contact me and for free we can do a 10 minute trial run to see if you are comfortable. Although, counseling is typically more comfortable for people face to face, I feel for now this is in the best interest of all my clients. I wil staying in touch. Thank you to all of you. Remember I am available to all of you via text and phone anytime and please stay safe.
There is nothing more important in counseling than building a trusting reliable and comfortable relationship. When it comes to counseling, one needs to know that the person they are speaking with is relatable. People who enter into counseling are extremely reluctant to share because they are convinced that the counselor is going to take sides, or have an opinion and not be able to understand their point of view. As a school counselor, wife and mother of a middle school and a high school student I know the struggles of teens today, the challenges of marriage, and the problems of parenthood. To further support my mission I offer a free thirty-minute consultation either in person or over the phone, in order for my clients to determine if they feel we can work together. I do not believe in taking sides. I do believe the key to being a successful adolescent, adult, marriage and family counselor is the ability to see, to hear and to understand multiple points of view.
